Each Small Rune Galaxy Bowl begins as a piece of steel, individually formed and finished by hand at Stronsay Forge in Orkney.

Made using my own Galaxy technique, the bowl combines heat-generated blues, purples and bronze tones across the steel with brass fused into the centre. Around the rim, individually marked Elder Futhark runes add another layer of detail to this Norse-inspired piece.

The patterns, textures and colours are shaped by the heat and the behaviour of the metals, so no two bowls will ever look exactly alike.

Measuring approximately 100mm in diameter and 30mm deep, this small bowl is designed as a decorative piece for a shelf, desk or display cabinet.

Finished with a protective clear lacquer to help preserve the colours and surface.

For decorative use only; not suitable for food or liquids.

Each bowl is individually made to order at Stronsay Forge in Orkney. The colours, brass patterns and finish will vary naturally from the photographs shown.
