Traditional craft. Made by hand.

Welcome to Stronsay Forge, my small workshop on the island of Stronsay, Orkney.

I'm a blacksmith and craftsman working with steel, copper, horn, leather and other traditional materials. I make everything from hand-forged ironwork and knives to jewellery, household items and one-off pieces.

I enjoy working with traditional methods, making things by hand and creating things that are useful, well-made and built to last.

Have a look around, and if there's something you'd like made, feel free to get in touch.

One of a Kind

Not everything I make is intended to be made twice.

Sometimes I'll have an idea I want to try, an unusual piece of material to work with, or just fancy making something different.

This is where you'll find my one-off creations, from unusual jewellery and decorative pieces to things that don't quite fit into the usual categories.

Once they're gone, there might not be another quite like them.

A Little About Stronsay Forge

Stronsay Forge is my small workshop on the island of Stronsay, in Orkney.

I've always enjoyed working with my hands, whether that's forging steel, working with horn and leather, making jewellery or trying my hand at something completely different.

I enjoy traditional crafts and the old ways of making things, but I'm not particularly interested in limiting myself to one type of work.

If I can make it, I'll probably have a go.
