Hand-forged from steel at Stronsay Forge in Orkney, this pendant takes its shape from Mjölnir, the hammer carried by Thor in Norse mythology.
The forged surface retains the character of traditional blacksmithing, while a twisted copper loop provides an attachment point for a cord or chain of your own.
Each pendant is made to order and finished with a light clear lacquer to help protect the steel from rust. Subtle differences in shape, colour and texture are natural features of individual hand-forged pieces.
In Norse mythology, Mjölnir is closely associated with Thor and was worn as a protective symbol in the Viking Age. This pendant draws inspiration from that long tradition.
